The myopia of the Little Napoleon
Started my new hobby of collecting notes and coins last week. A good hobby indeed, especially when you hold a rare notes in a big denomination, which can be converted to RM whenever you are short of it.
Went to Maybank money changer yesterday in a dire needs to find some NZ dollars as well as Australian dollar.
Location: Money changer Kotaraya.
‘Abang, duit Australia dengan New Zealand ada?’
‘Nak berapa?’ asked the brother while reading his Metro.
‘5 Aussie dollar ada?’
‘Takde’ he responded, without even looking at me.
‘New Zealand dollar?’
‘Takde’ he replied, still engrossed with his Metro.
‘Sterling?’
‘Takde’
‘Yen?’
‘Takder’
‘Brunei?’
‘Takde’
‘Abis duit apa yang ada kat sini?’
‘Duit biasa-biasa je’
‘Abih duit apa yang ada ?’
‘Kalau nak tukar pegi carik money changer kat luar tu, ada banyak’
‘Abih ni bukan money changer ?’ I asked in retaliation for his rudeness and cockiness. And the conversation that followed the above is very nasty that it is not even worth mentioning it here.
Location: Maybank HQ (in front of Puduraya)
‘Hello En. Mazlan, this is XXX from BNM’ my greet to En. Mazlan, the Chief Dealer of Maybank Fixed Income Securities Investment Portfolio.
‘Hello. Yes En. XXX. Anything that I can help you?’ he said in his soft spoken voice.
‘Takde ape En. Mazlan, just to seek some info on some of Maybank portfolio. Bla bla bla…’
In a very good manner, he explained and gave all the info that I required. And the treatment that I got is very much dissimilar to the bloody machai at the money changer.
And the difference between En. Mazlan and the bloody machai is, the former earn RM23,000 per month and managing RM14b of assets under his portfolio, while the latter is earning at most RM1,200 per month and taking care of only RM3000 of foreign currencies.
And verily in the day of judgement, God would not talk to 3 types of people, old folks who do zina, leaders that cheat to their followers, and the poor who pretend to be rich.
Sorry to say this, the machai pretentiously acted like he owns the whole world for himself. What a myopia…of a little Napoleon.
