At last the government had admitted it. They have made the mother-of-all mistake in 2009 Budget. I had already wrote something on this in this blog.

For those who might have missed this, hereby is an excerpt from today’s TheStar that I Ctrl C+V

Declining prices spell gloom

KUALA LUMPUR: Falling oil and commodity prices sound like good news for the consumers but to the Government, it means a shortfall of billions of ringgit in revenue.

Petroleum-based revenue account for 40% of the Government’s projected income and Second Finance Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop said other streams of revenue must now be found to meet this shortfall.

The main headache for the Government is falling crude oil price, which dipped as low as US$67.40 per barrel yesterday in New York.

When the Government planned its budget for next year, it did so by calculating its revenue based on oil prices at US$125 per barrel.

 end of excerpt..

My take on this:

1) The bunch of old farts who sit in the country’s budget committee are simply a bunch of plain stupid stooges. How can you be so sure that oil price will stabilise at USD125? In the end, instead of improving peoples’ life by reducing citizens economic burden, these stupid old farts prayed that price of oil to stay at USD125, and people will have to pay RM2.78 for a litre of petrol.

2) Those who had a slightest economic brain might had already forecasted this when oil price started to decline. The government now must already be in a deep shit. But surprisingly, the new finance minister is still confident with the country’s economic growth and he decided not to retable the 2009 Budget despite the fact that the revenue forecast is completely wrong. How can you assure people that the economic is ok when your 2010 budget will definitely have to be in a deeper deficit in order to sustain the economic growth that you promised?

3)  Given the fact that the current years budget deficit is unusually large, we have yet to see any improvement in peoples’ life. The Economic Corridors development, which were promised to Kelantanese, Kedahan, Penangite and oghang2 Perlis by the BN government prior to the election, are simply a bogus idea of Dollah. Luckily, people in some states did not buy this sham as the projects will only benefited the few, and BN lost in a very disgraceful manner. Pity you Dollah.

4) Again on the food stapple scheme. Prices of foods are still high. Where is the Economic Council Committee formed by Dollah few months ago? No impact can be seen yet. Again most of the committee members are just a bunch of retired politician old farts.

Last but not least, the BN since dahulu, kini and selamanya is full of old farts and youngster-stooges.

Hmmm….quoting tukartiub,  ‘inilah KKK, bukan klu klax klan tetapi korupsi, kronisma dan klentong….dan KKK = kah kah kah…’

 Terima kaseh BN.
