Attended a kuliah this evening, a good kuliyah really by Ustaz Uda.

3 ways to purify your heart, perpetual remembrance of Allah, ‘bersuluk’ or leaving behind all the maksiat events and elements, and being in the companionship of good friends.

Dato’ Haji Ishak Baharom passed away today, may Allah give him a place among the Solihin in jannah.

Nothing much to shout out loud on local issue, except for one thing that is worth to laugh out loud:  Someone did in fact told me in the LRT,’Our judiciary system was a joke’

How come a CJ cannot decline a lawyer’s request to tag along with him during his holiday, and how come another former CJ dislike his predecessor just because of late deferment of Tan Sri titleship…

Comparing the former kind of person and the latter, hmmm…

We plant a seed today, for the next generation to enjoy the fruit. Bad seeds will give nothing but messy and obtrusive shrub for the next generation to clear.

On the other hand, good seeds will produce a nice and high quality fruit for the next generation. And the next generation, after eating the fruit, will then plant the seed from the fruit for the next next generation. The next next generation, after enjoying the fruit will then plant the seeds for the next next next generation, and so on and so forth.

I shall keep this short and sweet.

Latest inflation figure is roughly at 2.45%. Taking into account the ‘bucket massaging’, I would personally say that the figure is far beyond it. Note however, having a small percentage of inflation rate is not necessarily a bad thing as it does show the economy is growing at a healthy rate. At least having a half cut of bread is better than nothing at all.

A reliable source from one prominent bank is stressing that the current inflation rate is still at the published rate, but the fact that inflationary pressure is escalating cannot be ignored.

With a basic knowledge in economics, anybody can safely expect the actions that will be taken by the government to counter the inflationary pressure. Monetarily, government may increase the interest rate or revalue the currency (make foreign currencies cheaper). Using fiscal approach, the government may reduce their fiscal expenditure to reduce demand in the economy. Unfortunately, while both approaches can potentially curb inflation, it may also adversely hurt economic growth in short term.

And considering this year is the eleventh year after the 1997, the ten-year cycle is yet to come……

One of the first things that Prophet Muhammad did when he arrived at Medinah is building a mosque, named Quba’. Munafiqs looking at the number of congregation and the function played by the mosque as an information and learning centre, felt very uneasy at the progression of Islam.

They then, in their effort to lure some Muslims to part from Quba mosque, had built another more beautiful mosque. But then, their effort was to no avail. While the number of Muslims attending Quba’ mosque has increased from time to time, the Munafiqs energy and money were evidently wasted, futile effort indeed.

The same story goes when Abrahah felt envious towards the fame of Mecca as a pilgrimage destination. He constructed a new and beautiful temple to compete with Mecca, and in fact he even decided to demolish the Kaabah with his army of elephants. But again, to no avail.

Both of Muslims and munafiqs can built many superbly beautiful mosques, but believe me, only the Mukmins can makmurkan the mosques. Recall a passage in the Quran, in Surah Ali Imraan, ’Verily those who makmurkan mosques are those who believe in Allah and judgement day’. A mosque can ‘live’ only when the people who attended it are Mukmin. And indeed, mosque built with fasad and hasad intentions would not survive, as illustrated by the few examples given above.

Both Muslims and Munafiqs can pray, but only Mukmins can have the pleasure of khushu’ in the prayer. The evidence; if prayer does not make you a better person, then you might belong to the latter group.

A friend of mine once told me this story. One day in Seksyen 9 Bandar Damansara mosque, Dato’ Dr Harun Din was invited to give a religious talk. As expected, ’some bird brain Napoleons used their dogs’ to disturbed and stop the kuliah. Talk organiser feeling their rights violated asked the esbies (pronounced as ass-bees) to produce any letter or warrant. The local esbies who were unable to produce any warrant or letter then asked Peace Hill Head Office to send some help to stop the kuliah.

Later, a platoon of esbies from Peace Hill came, but still without any letter.

Then, all of a sudden came a letter from JAI, asking the organiser to stop the talk. If the talk continue, police might take action as the speaker (who is Prof Dato’ Dr Harun Din)  is not a JAI-certified speaker. Amazing isn’t it? How organised is Islam Hadhari, they even have certification for religious speaker. What is more amazing than the fact that not a chalang-chalang person can get the certificate. Even Prof Dato Dr Harun Din does not have one..

And the process of getting the certification (pentauliahan)  is quite a tedious one, much more difficult than getting Halal certificate to produce frankfurters I would say. First you will have to go through JAI interviews to look at you academic credentials. If you are lucky to pass the first stage, you will then receive a call from esby (pronounced as ass-bee) asking you to come to one of the branch office where another round of interviews will be held. And after you get the certification, to ensure your performance to achieve the KPI outlined, continuous surveilance will be done from time to time, again by esbies.

The current number of certified penceramah is only 200++, while the number of mosques is increasing from time to time due to the fiscal spending of the government. Tazkirahs  are not allowed during tarawikh prayer. Teenagers are busy with tele programmes (especially in RTM, where infotainment programmes are broadcasted everyday without fail after the news). PakLah was busy attending muhibbah concert at 8.30p.m. to tighten Malaysia and Indonesia relationship. And people of Malaysia are busy waiting in front of tele, channel RTM1, to see their beloved leader in the life concert program. And the mosque? Hmmmm…..

But one Islam Hadhari’s ulama’ once said, ‘Kenapa kita nak besar-besarkan perkara-perkara kecil (solat) bila orang tu nak buat sesuatu yang memberi nama kepada Malaysia?’. She even added sarcastically ’Bila Petronas untung besar, ada pulak yang bertanya "petronas tu bayar zakat ke tak?". Kenapa perkara-perkara macam ni yang diheboh-hebohkan?’

Adoi……..Islam Hadhari.

Reading yesterday’s newspaper make me understand the shallowness of UMNO’s way of thinking.

Pictured next to Anuar Musa having dinner in the house of one Imam in Kelantan, TPM gave this remark,’We hope to win because it would speed up the proccess of building mosques and the Islamic civilisation in Kelantan’ . How shallow. Blaming Kelantan state government for not building even one mosque during the past 18 years, he must have overseen the ‘quality’ of the existing mosque in Kelantan.

A reader with a sane and open mind would have asked the narrowness of UMNO’s view on Islamic civilisation. Apart from their Islam Hadhari, does number of mosques show the level of Islamic civilisation of a nation?

What’s the point of having a grand and beautiful mosque as in Putrajaya when hundreds of couples of Malay/Muslim, hundreds of Malay/Muslim families and hundreds of visitors dare to picnic and having leisure in front of it when less than a hundred of jemaahs are praying inside the mosque?

What’s the point of having a grand mosque in Putrajaya when thousands of Muslims would rather have leisure at the park in front of it waiting for the Pesta Bunga Api Antarabangsa to start than praying Isyak in it?

What’s the point of having a Crystal Mosque, when in the end the MB will say ‘We hope this is gonna be another tourist attraction that will bring revenue to the state’?

It scared me really to think of this thing, as it reminded me the story of Firaun who built the grandeur ma’bud and pyramids, the story of Princess Balqis with Prophet Sulaiman and last but never the least, the story of Titanic…tehehe.

I can still remember a passage from al-Quran which tells us that those who meramaikan mosque are those who believe in Allah and the day of judgement. I don’t think the Islam Hadhari’s scholars really understand this. The ya’muru (meramaikan) used in the passage means an action of those who frequently attending mosques as to make the mosques live (menghidupkan masjid). But from Islam Hadhari point of view, as we have seen in Terengganu, the ya’muru is taken as to increase the number of mosques. And now, they are implementing this wrong concept once again in Kelantan…if they win.

Today, I joined a Zuhur jemaah prayer at one of the mosques in Kelana Jaya. Amazing, one imam with two jemaahs…..including me. Where’s the civilisation then?

Cabinet yesterday has decided that the use of ‘Allah’ in any religious publications except Islamic publications is forbidden in any circumstances. Reason being, quoting someone in the Utusan, ‘To avoid Muslims from being misled’.

While bearing in mind that I am not a religious scholar myself, this announcement make me wonder, aren’t we (Muslims, Christians and Jews) worship the same god who we call Him as Allah? Any takers to object me if I make a statement that in both original version of Old and New Testament, the word of Allah is used to describe the God of Abraham?

I really am not aware if Pak Lah, the founder of the new teaching of Islam Hadhari, after the syura with his jemaah menteri has the authority to disqualify Christians and Jews (if any) in Malaysia from taking the word of ALLAH as the name of their god. Sorry for being ignorant on this new jurisdiction of power entrusted on Pak Lah shoulder. Again I extend my apologies..

I think we are the only nation in this world that made such a ruling. Even Saudi Arabia, with its utmost stringent ISO (Islamic Standards of Originality) does not asked the Christians to change their God’s name from Allah to another name in their Arabic version of Bible. Yet the rulers do not fear it would misled the Muslim. Yes I admit, reason being, those who murtad in Saudi Arabia will be punished according to hudud rules. Harsh UMNO would say. However, admittably they are some other more complementary effective way to retain Muslims in Islam than hudud alone in its own.

Why I specifically say UMNO? Simply because they are the one who made the most brouhaha during the hudud fever few years back. Let me stop writing about hudud now, as me myself are not very clear on the technicals of this matter.

Saying that Muslim in Malaysia would be misled if this is allowed for me is the most absurdest and weirdest reason. If its true that many Muslims are so weak in imaan and many of them will convert to Christianity or even Judaism if the word of Allah is used, why don’t the leaders in their capacity try all their best to give way for more munkar cleansing and maaruf encouragement?

Yet we see more reality shows in tele such as Akademi Fantasia, Sehati Berdansa, Gedik Santai, Tom Tom Bak, AC di Sini, Kwek Mambo Kak Nita, OG and Salleh Yaakub, LG Star, You Think You can Dance, Bintang RTM(don’t know whether this still exist though), and some other programmes that I couldn’t think of.

Yet we see concerts being held from year to year during new year’s night. With teenagers after the celebration mixing freely, drinking, fighting with each other, vandalising public amenities, and many more unhealthy activities that I feel so ashame to write in my blog. Surprisingly, no FRU units were sent.

Yet we see FRU units using chemical water and tear gas to disperse peaceful march for a more transparent and clean election. Activists were oppressed with the threat of immediate ISA detention with no court order. What is more weird than weirder when FRU were sent even to ’manage’ the protests done by Maybank staffs in front of Menara Maybank. What can bankers do anyway to physically harm the nation that you have to send FRU?..weird.

Yet we see many Napoleons in the country raking the nation’s wealth for their own families in the farmhouse, with media playing their role very well as Squealers. And to guard Napoleons’ interest, fierce dogs were employed. And of course, these Napoleons in the first place were elected by the flock of Sheeps who know nothing but ‘Scale is right, moon is wrong’

Read The Animal Farm to understand the previous paraghraph…tehehe.

Most of the teenagers celebrating new year are Malays, most of the singers during the night are Malays, most of the FRUs are Malays, most of the singer wannabees are Malays, most of the SMS voters are Malays, most of the talkshow hosts are Malays, and last but never the least, most of the Napoleons are Malays as well.

No wonder why he must be scared of Malay potentially being misled.
