Below are some of the experiences of mine during my five hours journey from KL to Sungai Petani.
1000hrs Boarding the Durian Burung double decker bus. I cannot be wrong by saying that it is a very nice and comfortable bus.
1010hrs An Indian mother and her daughter board the very same bus, and they start talking in their mother tongue language. No offence here, I am not racist or whatsoever, just to describe the situation.
1030hrs The bus departs from Puduraya Bus Terminal. The mother and daughter are still talking.
1050hrs The bus enters PLUS highway. This time, the daughter is crying, while the mother is consoling her daughter.
1230hrs A number of bus drivers from the opposite direction give signals of flashing lights, meaning ‘ slow down, there is a police roadblock ahead’. The pair of Indian mother and daughter are talking about the police force, I presume.
1245hrs Going through the traffic roadblock without any problem. ‘They’ are still talking, with the daughter relentlessly keeps on asking her mother, while the mother responses.
1300hrs Road accident - Collision of two lorries. The daughter is crying, while the mother is sleeping.
1315hrs Another road accident, cannot really see what hit what, because the rescue lorries are blocking our view. The daughter is crying, while the mother is sleeping.
1327hrs Break at Bukit Gantang R&R. Pray Zuhur.
1410 We should have depart at 1400hrs, but a man delayed us for another ten minutes.
1415hrs Another road accident - A semi-size lorry loses control, hence skid to the side of the road. The mother has awake, and both of them are now talking.
1430hrs Another road block at Taiping. Thanks to the signals from other drivers, the driver manages to go through the road block. The daughter is sleeping. Shhhh…be silent..
1445hrs Road accident- A car and a motorcycle.
1500hrs Arrive at Butterworth.
1524hrs Another road accident, this time I just could not be bothered to see what hit what. The mother is advising her daughter to drive carefully in the future.
1545hrs Arrive at Sungai Petani bus station. Alhamdulillah…
mostly throughout the journey: Only a single lane can be used in the PLUS highway due to the road resurfacing. Whats the point of paying a tantamount amount of toll fees, when PLUS don’t even know how to organise their resurfacing works?
Ever wonder why people with money are prepared to pay premium to fly first or business class although they will be touching down at the destination at the very same time with those flying in economy class?
I hope that by sharing my experience, we will not say that people who fly in business and first class are wasting their money on the perfectly subtitutable product~the flight to the destination. But in fact, flying business or first is totally different from the other one….
