A friend of mine once said to me, ‘ Sometimes, there are some occasions when you don’t have to say anything, but people would have already know what you are going to say.’

I wonder if this is what he meant….

Teramat sedih kenyataan aktres Rosnah Mat Aris

This letter was sent to Utusan by AZMAN ZAKARIA. I wonder what will Azman Zakaria write if he continue…hohoho..

A junior of mine once asked me, ‘ What is your feeling if nobody is attending our Islamic circle?’

The answer of mine ‘ I don’t care really. But the reason of me doing this circle is that, I just don’t want to see another batch of sadist secularists* going back to Malaysia, and pretending they know everything about religion, and destroying that very religion’

Na’uzubillahi min zalik….

*Disclaimer; I am not saying that every single of overseas student is like that, but maybe a little in number, but the thing is, this little numbered group of people, is very influencial in our very own country….trying to liberalise the Islam…

p/s; secularism is the concept that societies should be governed by a process of reasoning rather than religious belief. More about secularist, click here.

Spring 2005 - An artist from Malaysia came to Royal Albert Hall performing her concert. I was in my first year back then.

A lot of publicities during that time as to prove ‘Malaysia boleh’ or Malaysian also can make a concert in that prestigious hall. Back in Malaysia, all newspapers potrayed this concert as the successful one…and the truth, it was never full that evening. If you do not believe me, ask those who went to that hall.

But the fact is (I myself was in London  during the evening of her concert), just a few hours before her concert, one of my colleagues approached me and said someone is giving out free tickets.

To him I asked, ‘where did he get this tickets?’

He said ‘ Someone sponsored these ticket, just take it man..don’t ask too many questions.’

Hmmm….

At last I did not go to the concert as I was pretty predetermined that I will never go to that concert as the money poured and sponsored for that concert can be put for a better use.

But I was happy though that evening as I met quite a number of my old friends. Having bought the tickets online, from different parts of the UK they came to London for the concert.

It is not about the concert that I want to write here, but about something else.

Just to give an advice for someone whose his/ her journey was for the concert on that day; if you pray qasar and jamak, please qada’ back your solat by praying full prayer.

I really do not want to debate too much about this, as the answer is explicit and clear in the reliance of the traveller (f15.1 to f15.9)

Just to qoute f15.8 from the book,

‘ The condition for shortening the prayer while travelling are;

1) That trip be legitimate, not for disobedience of Allah. Can that concert justify this? Even a non mumayyiz child can answer this question. Don’t know if the creams from the crops student don’t know this.

2) that it be at least 81km

3) the destination to be known

4) Prayer take place from start to finish while on the trip

5) the intention to shorten prayer coincide with opening takbir

6) One is aware of the permissibility of shortening prayer for travel

7) And that intention is free from something that nullify it…

Just to share this as lately unprecedented number of Malaysian Societies are organising Malaysia Night which is supposedly to introduce Malaysia to the world, but the evident fact  is, 80% to 95% of the attendees are already Malaysian, and mostly from them are Malays who are Muslims, and mostly from those Muslims prayed qasar jamak due to the ignorance……

I just don’t think these Malaysia Nights pass the  first condition……..Now as you know, do not be ignorant, and I dare to say, do not go to those party sibyan in the first place……as the nights are not to introduce Malaysia to Malaysians…hehehe..

Hohoho horror….

Disclaimer; If you think you have a weak bladder, DO NOT see the video beside.

This video is to educate public from doing any crime that might lead to corporal punishment. It is really not my intention to feel pity to the victim, as I myself feel he deserved the punishment for what he has done.

Aku pun rasa nak terkucil tengok mamat ni kena sebat.

Jangan kesian pada mamat ni, he might deserve it.

I seriously mean this; Malaysia yang aman dari PEROMPAK,PENYAMUN,PERAMPOK, PEROGOL, MAT REMPIT, SAMSENG JALANAN, PERAGUT JALANAN bermula dari anda dengan menyebarkan video ini.

Moga-moga timbul rasa keinsafan……Moral of the story, for the sake of you ass and butt, do not do any mischief that might lead to corporal punishment….

Central Bank of a country yesterday decided to maintain the interest rate at 3.50 percent.

A very wise decision considering the government action pouring money for the  election and flood…..

The country has flood at the southern region, and the financial sector is experiencing excess liquidity….how ironic…..

gunting rambut

One day, I went to the place of a junior of mine to cut his hair.

As a professional hair stylist always does, I start using a pair of scissors to trim his hair.

Upon starting, he asked me, ‘ Takkan mula-mula dah gunting kot?’

My reply, ‘ Alaaa…biasa aaa, aku kan professional, don’t worry, your macho is my top priority’

His response to that, ‘ Tak..bukan sebab ko professional ke tak, tapi ko tak bacer Bismillah dulu ke?’

After hearing this, I slowly said, ‘ Hmmmm…dah bacer dah tadi…dalam hati…tehehe’.

How different am I compared to him. After all, Al’s tarbiyah on the juniors seems to be yielding fruit…..Alhamdulillah

‘man yahdillah hu fala mudhillallah wa man yudhlil fala haadiyalah."

Barangsiapa yang diberikan hidayah oleh Allah padanya, tidaklah ada kesesatan baginya…

Dan barangsiapa yang disesatkan, tiadalah hidayah baginya…..

Oh Allah, bestow upon us the former, not the latter…..

backpack

It was during our usrah when a junior of mine asked me about the optimal luggage that should be brought while travelling.

My answer, ‘ First prioritise the items that you want to bring according to the situation and your destination’s needs. The most needed items on top of the list, while the unnecessary item at the bottom. For example if you are going to Red Sea for scuba diving, put goggle and scuba suit first as they are what you need to scuba dive.  And if you are travelling during the summer, then there is no point of you taking along with you a winter jacket. Then put all the item according to their priority in your backpack. Lastly, to get the optimal weight and luggage, take half of the items out from the backpack. And that is the optimal luggage’

There is a saying ‘ Hiduplah kamu seperti sa-orang musafir’

At first I do not really understand the true meaning of this words.

And after a lot of insatiable tiring worldly travel, I think I understand the words.

The answer is easy yet very subtle,

A TRAVELLER ALWAYS PRIORITISE, ALL OF THE ITEMS IN HIS BACKPACK ARE FOR HIS DESTINATION, EXCEPT SOME FOR THE SHORT PERIOD TRANSIT…..

Tozeur, Tunisia (start of Sahara)

Quite a lot of people are happy with the new no frill low cost airline company AirAsiaX which will serve KL London route. At least this company will force MAS to consider their pricing strategy thoroughly.

It is not my intention to tarnish MAS name, but to prove MAS price is so exorbitant, I hope readers can do some experiment. Open Singapore Airlines website, and check the fare from Singapore to London on whatever date that you want. Similarly, open Malaysia Airlines website, and check the fare from KL to London on the same date.

I checked the fare for the outward journey on 13/06/07 and return on 20/06/07. As you can imagine, MAS’s fare is 2.42 times more than the fare of Singapore Airlines. MAS fare is RM 9705 and Singapore Airlines  fare is only RM 4009. Hmmmm…cost wisely, even a not yet mumayyiz child will choose SIA not MAS.

Come on MAS, fuel price is not even an issue to charge consumers exorbitantly, as SIA presumably is also using the same fuel isn’t it?

Regarding to the low cost long haul flight to London from KL, we can only hope for the best although historically many companies that tried to do the same did not manage to outperform the market. However in the end, it is we the consumer who will enjoy the benefit of lower fare.
