A dear friend of mine went to Budapest. While taking pictures around Hero’s Square, suddenly he saw a signboard showing the direction to Budapest Zoo. So to Budapest Zoo he headed.

Not an animal lover he is, so a question might worth to be asked. ‘ O my dear friend, you are not an animal lover aren’t you?  Why did you go to that wee zoo?’

To me he replied, ‘ It is not because of loving animal my friend, I just want to see the mosque dated from the period of Ottoman empire, that its role now is to house elephants. The e- mail that I received even stated that the mosque is even more beautiful than the mosques in Turky ‘

So off he went to the zoo to see the mosque. To his surprise, the mosque is indeed very beautiful. The nicely shaped semisphere domes were complemented with a number of beautiful tall minarets , ‘ typical Ottoman architecture’ he did said to himself. The fact that it is now used as elephants shed sadden him. Almost breaking tears he was at the moment.

And then to an old zoo keeper he went to ask if there is any piece of information available for this poor building that can be read.

To his surprise once again, the zoo keeper laughed at him. ‘Where did you get this information son? This shed was built during 1950’s by the zoo itself, not by the Ottoman. During that time, people in the west were crazy about the middle east. Mummies, pharaoh, Casablanca, and Pyramids are some of the examples of their obsession. Since these elephants also originated from somewhere east, so the shed was built in a way that will reflect something from middle east. Nothing from Ottoman my son’

This dear friend of mine tried not to believe this man. But logic make the keeper right. And also the history. During Ottoman empire, there were 16 mosques around Buda. And then all of the 16 were destroyed. So where is it does this mosque or shed came from, if not purposely built to shed the beast. And the e-mail that he received is totally untrue, just to make Muslims feel humiliated and angry. With a heart full of shame to the keepers he retreated from the zoo, while cursing the e-mail.

The same experience goes to me when I posted the last entry. The same goes to those who happens to believe Akum means you are an animal, who believes Pikachu means I am Jews and so on and so on. This hizbu t****r’s e-mail need to be clarify, before we inculcate it in our mind.

I did manage to put up some pictures of BUdapest in my photopage. Kalau sudi tengoklaaa….

The Balkan trip was an awsome one. Unforgettable. Previously, I have set a default in my mind that the best place I have ever visited is Andalucia. Now, the two weeks of tiring Balkan journey makes me realise that building isn’t everything. Forget about al-hambra, mezquita and all those beautiful buildings in Andalucia. Just to qoute from one of the MB of one of the states in my country, ‘’ pergi jahanam lah atau dalam bahasa Inggerisnya go to hell’ dengan izin dewan’‘ all those beautiful buildings erected by the Muslim in the previous era. What is the point of us going to al-hambra and mezquita just to admire their architecture without realising that real facts attached to those buildings.

On the first step of mine inside the mezquita, I quickly realised how good those previous Muslims were in erecting this very magnificent mosque. But the utterance of subhanallah alone is not enough. I should have feel shame during the visit. How come a mosque became a place of syirik now ? Don’t we Muslims who visited there feel shame? To be honest, the wasn’t even an atom of shame in my heart when I took pictures of the mezquita ( well it has became church now), which I regret the most now after paying a visit to Balkan.

The word of ‘mosque’ in itself is a shame. I don’t know whether it is right or not, but from the best of my knowledge, the word mosque came from this mezqueta in seville, espana ( the mosque that I am talking about above). It is said that when the Portuguese came to invade Spain, most of the Muslims use this very mosque as their last resort of protection place. The word mezquita came from the description of how easy the Portuguese kill those Muslims in the mosque, as if killing mosquitoes. Just by a stroke or two of swords, they managed to kill Muslims.

Some might say, ‘dah tahu from where the word mosque came from, why do you use it in this entry?’

Yes, it is indeed true that I shouldn’t have use it, but the usage of  the word mosque is really just to show that we Muslims generally and universally accept the idea that mosque is masjid.

This is the muqaddimah,

Just you wait, verily they also are waiting….
