As a starter, I am putting a retro of which I think the best entry I have ever posted in my previous blog. Because of too many pop up popping up while using blogs.cjb.net, I considered to change my blog host, and my apologies if this brings any inconveniences to readers.
With the exam coming up 3 days from this very moment, no new entry can be expected in the near future.
Anyhow, enjoy the retro……
13 hours of dreadful journey of mine to Heathrow from KLIA using our ‘beloved’ national carrier made me realise on certain thing that we should think together.
As a student, it is understandable that economy class is the only option for me and some of my dear friends. Luckily my seat is next to the another friend of mine seat. Although this dear friend of mine is kaki tidor ( who does not want his name to be disclosed here for this reason), at least I have a friend to talk to during the journey (please forgive me Mus…… hahaha).
15 minutes after take off, he fall asleep. After 2 hours, luckily the stewardess starts to give away our breakfast, so he has to give up abandoning me alone watching the in flight entertainment which is a bit lousy. Not to be ungrateful, but this is the reality. With more or less than ten old film, how can we say the entertainment is good? Do I need to mention the advanced in-flight entertainment system offered by Singapore Airlines? Yes I do. They provide a very wide range of audio and video programmes and more importantly, those programmes are ’on demand’. This enables the passengers to pause, fast forward, rewind and restart the movie at their own discretion. So passengers do not have to watch movie continuously. In MAS case, you have to have a very strong bladder in order to enjoy the movie uninterrupted…hahahaha.
Anyway, this article is not mainly to discuss the comparative entertainment systems between airlines, but about something else. Recently during our summer vacation, I were horrified by the fact that Malaysia Airlines(MAS) recorded a post-tax loss of 280.7 million ringgit(73.86 million US dollars) in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2005 which ended on June 30. Hmmmmm…. RM 280m loss for the first quarter…. please do not imagine the loss for the whole year if you have a heart problem. (The writer proclaims not to be responsible for any problem suffered by readers if they try to imagine this). So I brought this topic to talk about with X ( X is the friend above who does not want to disclose his name).
I keep on defending MAS for it loss. Reason, MAS’s fuel costs rose by 58 percent during that first quarter. But this close friend of mine objects that excuse. He claims that AirAsia managed to survive in a sound profit despite of the rising fuel cost. If AirAsia manages to survive, why MAS which is merely the black hole for rakyat money cannot survive? Then only I realise that X has just made me realise that fuel cost is not the major cause for this enormous loss.
So I give up and to X I ask for the real reason for the loss. His answer is simple but very sarcastic.
His answer: ‘Mana tak bankrap nyer, dah maksiat berleluasa atas fight nih. Dengan pramugari pramugara Islam yg menuang arak nyer, kebaya ketat yg semacam swimming suit nyer, dengan misappropriation of duit rakyat which has better use nyer, dengan kain yg belah sampai ke paha nyer, dan yg paling hard core, DENGAN PRAMUGARA TERLAMPAU nyerr…mana perniagaan nak berkat.
His provocative answer made me think that the ‘intangible’ reason has more impact than the fuel cost.
Innallaha ‘ala kulli syai’in qadir. sesungguhnya Allah itu berkuasa ke atas sesuatu…..
Ooops, aku tersebut nama member aku yg kuat tido tuh ker kat perenggan 2? hahhahahah…
